Creating a VizArtist Scene using a Social Poll Broadcast Data Source

First, you need to:

  • A) Have a Poll Data Source Widget created in your Experience.
  • B) Install our Viz Social Plugin as described in this article.
  • C) Download this sample scene and use it as a base for your project:

  • D) Go to Feed Streamer and add a new source as follows:

The key for a scene to work properly is having the correct groups' hierarchy and plug-in's settings.

Understanding the Scene's Tree


In our case, we need to make sure that all the data is connected to the Widget in order to display real-time information.

We will walk through all the scene's containers briefly explaining their operation and taking a more detailed look at those who have a specific plugin showing their configuration.



1 - flowics_poll 

The "father" of the scene; it has 2 plugins:

  • Key Container Plugin
  • ControlObject Container Plugin



2 - data

In charge of connecting the scene with the Widget; it has 2 plugins (both requires a specific configuration):

  • STV_MessagesReader Container Plugin

In the field "Source Name", you should enter the same name that you defined on point D)


  • DataArray Container Plugin 



3 - poll_container

Just a container, It has NO plugins.



4 - lower_third_bg 

The "box" or background of the poll; it has 3 plugins but they are purely visual, you should be able to change them to match your project's visual identity:

  • Noggi Geom Plugin
  • Material Element
  • Alpha Container Plugin



5 - container

Just a container, It has NO plugins.



6 - topic

The title of the poll; it has 1 Text element and 1 plugin:

  • Text Element 
  • DataText Container Plugin  

7 - poll

Just a container; it has NO plugins.



8 - options

In charge of connecting poll's options names; it has 2 plugins (both require a specific configuration):

  • DataLabel Container Plugin 


  • DataParameter Container Plugin



9 & 10 - option_a/b

In charge of displaying the poll's options A & B names; there is no special configuration, they take the values from their parent (8).



11 - results

Just a container; it has NO plugins.



12 - data_percent

In charge of connecting the poll's options percentages; it has 2 plugins (both require a specific configuration):

  • DataLabel Container Plugin 


  • DataParameter Container Plugin



13 & 14 - percent_a/b

They are in charge of displaying the poll's options A & B percentages; there is no special configuration, they take the values from their parent (12).



15 - bars_data

Just a container; it has NO plugins.



16 - bar_data_a

In charge of displaying the poll's chart's A bar. It has 2 plugins (both require a specific configuration) and 1 material:

  • BarChart Geom Plugin 


  • DataParameter Container Plugin



17 - bar_data_b

In charge of displaying the poll's chart's B bar. It has 2 plugins (both require a specific configuration) and 1 material:

  • BarChart Geom Plugin 


  • DataParameter Container Plugin



18 - bars_bg

Just a container, it has NO plugins.



19 & 20 - bars_bg_a/b

Just the backgrounds of the poll's A & B bars; there is no special configuration.
