Quick Start Guide for Producers

Running a Live Show with Flowics

This guide is intended for operators, journalists, and producers who need to control Flowics graphics during a live show without accessing the Graphics Editor. If your graphics have already been built and published by someone else, this is the best place to start.

What You Need Before the Show

Before going live, confirm the following with your graphics designer or technical team:

  • The Graphics Package has been published with the latest updates.

  • An Output has been created and connected to your production system.

  • You have been added to the appropriate team with at least Viewer or Operator permissions.

Two Ways to Control Graphics

Flowics provides two control interfaces depending on your production workflow.

Remote Control

A simple interface used to trigger individual overlays in and out.

Best for: Shows with a fixed set of graphics that are manually triggered during the broadcast.

Rundown Control

A playlist-based interface where graphics are organized and triggered according to a predefined running order.

Best for: News broadcasts, election coverage, sports productions, or any show with a planned rundown.

Ask your graphics team which control interface has been configured for your show.

Using Remote Control

  1. Open the Remote Control link provided by your graphics team.

  2. You will see a list of overlays, where each overlay represents a graphic.

  3. To take a graphic on air, click IN.

  4. To remove a graphic from air, click OUT.

  5. To update graphic content before taking it on air:

    • Click the text field next to the overlay.

    • Enter the new value.

    • Click Update.

Tip: If an Update button is available at the top of the page, click it after making changes to ensure the latest published version of the graphics is loaded.

Using Rundown Control

  1. Open the Rundown Control link provided by your graphics team.

  2. You will see a playlist of graphics arranged in the running order.

  3. Click an item to select it. The selected item becomes the Next graphic.

  4. Click Take In to bring the graphic on air.

  5. Click Take Out to remove it.

  6. Use the Next button or your keyboard arrow keys to move through the rundown.

Tip: You can edit text fields directly in Rundown Control without opening the Graphics Editor. Select the item, update the field values, and then take it on air.
