Setting Your Outputs Live

Enabling an Output makes your graphics visible on your broadcast system; without it, the Output displays a watermark. This article covers how to enable an Output, manage your quota, and resolve the most common Output issues.

Use cases

  • Going live with a Graphics Package for the first time.

  • Enabling a specific Output for a show while keeping others in test mode (disabled).

  • Managing multiple simultaneous outputs across different programs or studios.

  • Troubleshooting a watermark or graphic that is not appearing on-air.

Prerequisites

  • You have a published Graphics Package in your Flowics project.

  • Your company plan includes at least one active Output slot.

  • To check your quota, go to Settings → Company Usage (Company Admin access required).

How it works

Each Flowics plan includes a fixed number of Output slots, the maximum number of Outputs that can be enabled (live) simultaneously. When an Output is disabled, it displays a watermark that lets you prepare and test graphics without consuming your live quota. Enabling an Output removes the watermark and makes the graphic available to your broadcast system via the Output URL.

Enabling an Output does not automatically put graphics on-air. You still need to trigger Overlays manually from the Remote Control or via automation (Flowics API)

Key rules to understand

  • Enabling an Output and triggering a graphic are two separate actions. An enabled Output means the channel is live and available, but the graphic only appears when you trigger an Overlay IN from the Remote Control or API.

  • Each Output has its own URL. If you use vMix, Tricaster, or OBS, each integration must use the correct Output URL. A common source of unexpected watermarks is having the wrong URL configured in the broadcast system.

  • Output Profiles change what appears on each URL. If your Output URL includes a ?profile= parameter (e.g. ?profile=vmix), only Overlays whose parent Region is tagged with that profile will appear on that Output.

  • Quota is shared across your entire company account. If a colleague enables an Output on another project, it counts against the same quota.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1 — Open the Remote Control or Project Home

You can enable an Output from two places:

  • Open the Remote Control and click Enable Live in the top bar.

  • Project Home: find the Graphics Package card and click Enable directly on the card.

After enabling the output, the watermark will disappear.

If you receive a quota error at this step, your account has reached the maximum number of simultaneous active Outputs. See the troubleshooting section below.

Step 2 — Confirm the Output is live

Open the Output URL directly in a browser tab. Confirm the watermark is gone and the graphic is visible. If it is visible in the browser but not in your broadcast system, the issue lies in the integration, not in Flowics.

Step 3 — Trigger your first graphic

With the Output enabled, go to the Remote Control and press IN on the Overlay you want to put on-air. The graphic will appear on the Output URL and in your broadcast system.

Best practices

  • Disable unused Outputs before enabling new ones. This avoids hitting your quota limit during a live broadcast. Go to Settings → Company Usage → View All Outputs to see which are active across your account.

  • Always verify the Output URL in a browser before connecting it to your broadcast system. If the graphic renders correctly in the browser, any remaining issues are on the broadcast system side.

  • Save your Output URLs in your broadcast system templates. Re-publishing a Graphics Package does not change the Output URL, but deleting and recreating the package does. Update your templates whenever you create a new package.

  • Keep one Output slot in reserve for emergencies. If your plan allows 4 simultaneous Outputs, run 3 live and keep 1 free so you can activate a backup package without disabling an active one.

Troubleshooting

The Output shows a watermark

Common causes:

  • The Output is not enabled.

  • Your company has reached its Output quota.

  • The trial or plan has expired.

How to fix:

  1. Open the Remote Control and check the Enable Live button — if it is off, toggle it on.

  2. If you get a quota error, go to Settings → Company Usage → View All Outputs and disable any Output that is not currently in use.

  3. If the account is on an expired trial, the watermark cannot be removed until the account is upgraded. Contact your Customer Success Manager.

If you use vMix, OBS, or Tricaster, confirm you are loading the correct Output URL in your broadcast system. A watermark appearing only in the broadcast system (but not in the browser) usually means the URL points to a different, disabled Output.

Note: disabling an Output shows a watermark but does not hide your overlays, graphics triggered IN will still appear on top of the watermark. If your overlay is not visible at all (no watermark, no graphic), the issue is not related to the Output being enabled or disabled.

The Output is enabled, but the graphic is not appearing

Common causes:

  • No Overlay has been triggered IN.

  • The Overlay is not tagged for the active Output Profile.

  • The Output URL in the broadcast system is stale.

How to fix:

  1. In the Remote Control, confirm an Overlay is set to IN. An enabled Output does not send any graphics until an Overlay is triggered.

  2. If the Output URL includes ?profile=, verify that the Overlay's parent Region has a tag matching that profile. Untagged Regions will not appear on profile-filtered Outputs.

  3. Check that the Output URL in your broadcast system (vMix, Tricaster, OBS) is current. Re-publishing a package does not change the URL, but if the package was deleted and recreated, the URL will be different. Copy the new URL from the Remote Control.

The Output is laggy or slow

Common causes:

  • Dynamic List building blocks with very large data ranges.

  • Multiple Output tabs open simultaneously.

  • Slow internet connection on the rendering machine.

How to fix:

  1. Open the Graphics Editor and check any Dynamic List building blocks. If the data range exceeds 500 items across all lists in a single Overlay, reduce it to the minimum needed.

  2. Close any duplicate Output URL tabs — each open tab renders independently and consumes resources.

  3. Run a speed test on the machine rendering the Output. Minimum recommended: a stable 10 Mbps connection.

  4. If the issue persists during a live broadcast, contact support with the Output URL and Graphics Package URL.

The Output URL returns a 404 error

What it means: The Graphics Package or Project linked to this Output no longer exists — it was likely deleted.

How to fix:

  1. Confirm the project still exists in your account.

  2. If it was deleted, create a new Graphics Package and copy the new Output URL.

  3. Update the URL in your broadcast system.

I need more simultaneous Outputs than my plan allows

  • Short term: disable Outputs that are not in active use. Go to Settings → Company Usage → View All Outputs.

  • Long term: contact your Customer Success Manager to upgrade your plan or add Output capacity.

When to contact support

Contact the support team if:

  • You enabled the output, and the watermark is still visible after 30 seconds.

  • You are within quota but receiving a quota error.

  • The Output URL returns an unexpected error that is not a 404.

  • The graphic renders in the browser but not in your broadcast system after verifying the URL and profile tags.

When you get in touch with support, please include: your Graphics Package URL, the Output URL, and a screenshot of the error or the watermark.
