Simultaneous Streaming transmission + Overlays
Simultaneous Streaming transmission + Overlays
Updated over a week ago

To do this transmission, the first thing we have to configure is the Streaming output of our VMix and for that we will do the following.

In the application we go to the Stream section and press the button for configuration:

The streaming window will appear.

The buttons we see allow simultaneous streaming of up to three different streaming providers.

We can create one or more profiles with unique streaming settings, for example one for each streaming provider. Only one profile can be used at a time.

Select one of the built-in streaming providers or select Custom RTMP Server if you want to enter the streaming details manually.

Each of the options will ask you for different information depending on the source; it is data that you can obtain directly from your account.

Once you have filled in your data you will have to select the quality for your Steaming.

The Quality setting you select will depend on a variety of factors, including the speed of your internet connection and your viewers.

The default setting of 360p 1.5mbps provides a low to medium quality stream that can be viewed by most broadband internet connections.

By default the free FFMPEG is installed with vMix and provides high quality
streaming with H264 video and AAC audio.

By default you will be streaming what the VMix has in its Output 1 which is always the program but you also have the opportunity to send what you have in Output 2 and for that you also have to define it in the Streaming settings.

In the advanced quality settings you will be able to select in addition to more detailed specifications for the transmission also what output you will be transmitting.

Now we need to configure what we are going to transmit through Output 2.

In the External configuration button you will see that a menu with the outputs is displayed, click on output 2 and select what you want to send through that output.

Now that our streaming and our outputs are configured we have to build our production with our Flowics Overlays.

To build a simple VMix scene we have to add the inputs that we are going to use in our production, in this example we will only add a camera and a Flowics overlay that we are going to compose in the Program.

Each source such as Camera, Video and all other types of Inputs are loaded into the Input Bar. A small real-time preview window is shown for each of these inputs.

To add a new Input we click on the Add Input button, which will display the following window.

We select the element you want to add, for example in this case I will first add the camera so we need to select the device and its desired characteristics.

As a second input I want to add the Flowics Overlay, the first thing I have to do is get my exit URL from my scene in Graphics.

For that we have go to Flowics, we entered our visualization and we will see the Output button on the far right.

We click on that button and a second Tab will open for us, copy that URL and return to VMix.

This time we add a Web Browser entry and in the URL field we paste the URL we got from Flowics.

ADDING BROWSER SOURCE

Now we have our two inputs ready to mix them in the program.

The numbers in the lower left part allow us to prioritize the videos in the program, the lowest number is the first layer and so on.

Once we add the priorities we can see the mix in the program.
