Viz Flowics Middleware is a local application that enables communication between Viz Flowics and systems running inside your network, such as databases, newsroom systems, automation platforms, and other third-party services.
In this article, you will find the minimum system requirements for installing and running the Viz Flowics Middleware. Make sure the machine meets all requirements before starting the installation. Failure to meet these prerequisites may result in installation errors or unexpected behavior.

Note: The Middleware will not start if Java 21 is not installed or is not in the system PATH. After installing Java, run java -version in the command line to confirm the correct version is active.
Network
Internet connection
Minimum speed: 3 Mbps
Firewall
The Middleware communicates with external domains, including flowics.com, twitter.com, facebook.com, and others. Make sure outbound connections are allowed on:
Port 80 (HTTP)
Port 443 (HTTPS)
If your organization uses a firewall or proxy, confirm with your IT team that outbound traffic on these ports is not restricted.
Database (optional)
Required only if you are using a database as a data source in the Middleware. Supported databases must be ACID-compliant with transactional support, including:
SQL Server
MySQL
PostgreSQL
Other compatible relational databases
Additional requirements for Viz Social and Mechanics
If you are using Social Media or Mechanics features through the Middleware, additional configuration may be required. Contact support for specific requirements based on your setup.
