Viz Flowics Support is available for MOS protocol version 2.8.5
This integration allows the connection of Avid iNEWS to Viz Flowics.
The communication between Avid iNEWS NCS and Viz Flowics occurs via the MOS protocol facilitating the direct transmission of news and stories to the Viz Flowics remote control's rundown interface for real-time on-air broadcasting.
Pre-Requisites
Install and run the Viz Flowics MOS Gateway on the same network where Avid iNEWS is running. Learn how to install the Viz Flowics MOS Gateway by clicking here.
Having configured the iNEWS MOS Gateway, verify the setup with your IT team. Within this configuration, ensure that the MOS plugin is also properly configured.
The minimum supported version of the iNEWS client for this integration is 8.2.0.42
Configuring the Viz Flowics Plugin
As part of the configuration for Viz Flowics, a few steps need to be followed to be able to use the HTML5 plugin feature in iNews.
First, you must go to Avid's MediaCentral Newsroom Management Setup and Configuration Guide and follow the steps under the HTML5 Plugins section.
Once the Avid setup is complete, open iNews and select the queue named SYSTEM/HTML-PLUGINS.
A URL for Viz Flowics MOS Plugin is provided, and as a requirement, the parameter progid needs to be added to the URL. The value progid must match the value of mosItemBrowserProgID, mosItemEditorProgID, and mosItemPlayerProgID.
For example:

mosItemEditorProgID = flowmos
mosItemPlayerProgID = flowmos
mosPlugInID = Viz Flowics

Enabling Viz Flowics MOS Plugin in iNEWS
After your team has configured the MOS plugin you can visualize it by following the steps below:
Go to the Tools tab
Select Plugin
Choose the Flowics Plugin. It will appear in the list with the name assigned during configuration. If you're unsure about the name, please check it with the team responsible for the setup.
4. Click 'Login' to access using your Flowics credentials.
After completing this step, you'll be able to view the projects associated with your company in Viz Flowics.
Drag and Drop Configuration
When creating a new item within the Viz Flowics Plugin and placing it within the story, it is necessary to enable the checkbox within the MOS Configuration settings of Flowics.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. Within the MOS Config in Viz Flowics, click on "NCS Settings."
2. Click on the checkbox "Enable drag and drop" to enable it
3. Click on the checkbox "Do not use mosItemReplace when saving opened item" to enable it
Adding a Graphic Overlays to a Story
To include a graphic overlay in your story, follow these steps:
1. Choose the Rundown where you want to place the overlay.
2. Create a new story by clicking on 'File' and selecting 'New Story'.
3. Select the desired graphic template.
4. Click on 'Use Template'.
5. Fill in the fields with the news content.
6. Click 'Save...'
7. Drag the template onto your Story. Once you drag and drop it, the template with the information will be added to the Story.
8. Save the story by pressing Control + S.
This way, you'll be able to find your graphic available in your playlist within the Rundown Control. If you don't see the graphic, make sure the monitor is activated.
Enabling Monitor
This will establish the connection between iNews and Flowics, allowing the templates you create in the Viz Flowics plugin to be visualized in your Flowics Rundown Control.
To load the monitor, you can follow these steps.
Within iNews, select a story.
click on the bottom left corner where it says "MON=ON".
Select the device.
Click on "Load".
After doing this you will able to see the MON=LOAD indicator in green, which means the connection has been established.
